DevOps / Cloud Engineer

About the Role

You'll own Bayaroo's cloud infrastructure — designing for reliability, security, and cost-efficiency. From container orchestration to zero-downtime deployments, you're the engineer who makes sure every booking goes through even on the busiest travel weekends.

What You'll Do

• Design, provision, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, SES, SQS)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for the Laravel backend and Next.js frontend
• Containerise services with Docker and manage deployments
• Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CDK
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation (CloudWatch, Sentry)
• Harden security posture: IAM policies, VPC design, secrets management, WAF
• Manage database backups, scaling strategies, and disaster recovery plans

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on DevOps / cloud engineering experience
• Deep knowledge of AWS services and best practices
• Proficiency with Docker and container orchestration (ECS or Kubernetes)
• Experience writing Terraform or CloudFormation templates
• Strong Linux administration and shell scripting skills
• Understanding of networking concepts: VPC, subnets, load balancers, DNS
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)

Nice to Have

Not required, but you'll stand out if you have any of these.

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) at scale
• Knowledge of Nginx/Apache configuration and tuning
• Familiarity with cost optimisation strategies on AWS
