Mobile Developer (React Native / Ionic)

About the Role

Bayaroo's mobile apps are the primary way our users discover and book travel. You'll own the cross-platform codebase (Ionic + Capacitor on Android/iOS), adding features, squashing bugs, and ensuring a silky-smooth native-feeling experience.

What You'll Do

• Develop new features for the Bayaroo user and agent mobile apps (Ionic + Capacitor)
• Maintain and improve native plugin integrations (camera, push notifications, GPS, payments)
• Work with REST APIs and implement offline-sync patterns for low-connectivity regions
• Optimise app startup time, list scrolling performance, and battery usage
• Coordinate app store releases (Google Play, Apple App Store)
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define and consume APIs
• Write automated tests and maintain build pipelines

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of cross-platform mobile development experience
• Proficiency with Ionic Framework and Capacitor
• Strong TypeScript and React skills
• Experience with native Android/iOS toolchains (Gradle, Xcode)
• Understanding of mobile UX patterns, gesture navigation, and platform guidelines
• Experience with push notifications (FCM/APNs) and deep linking
• Ability to debug native layer issues using Android Studio / Xcode

Nice to Have

Not required, but you'll stand out if you have any of these.

• Experience with SQLite for client-side data persistence
• Knowledge of React Native as a comparative framework
• Familiarity with Capacitor plugin authoring
• Published apps on Play Store or App Store
