Frontend Engineer (Next.js)

About the Role

You'll own the traveller-facing web product at Bayaroo — from the home page and destination discovery to the booking flow and social feed. You care deeply about performance, accessibility, and design fidelity, and you have the TypeScript chops to back it up.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship new features across the Next.js 15 frontend
• Translate Figma designs into production-quality components with Tailwind CSS
• Optimise Core Web Vitals — LCP, FID, CLS — and maintain a fast, accessible site
• Collaborate with designers and backend engineers in cross-functional squads
• Write unit and integration tests, maintain component documentation
• Lead frontend architecture decisions: routing, state management, data fetching strategy
• Review code, mentor teammates, and contribute to the design system

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience
• Expert-level React and Next.js (App Router, server components, streaming)
• Strong TypeScript skills — generics, utility types, strict mode
• Mastery of Tailwind CSS and modern CSS (animations, grid, custom properties)
• Understanding of web performance, SEO, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1)
• Experience with REST API integration and client-side data fetching patterns
• Familiarity with Git, PR workflows, and CI/CD

Nice to Have

Not required, but you'll stand out if you have any of these.

• Experience with Framer Motion or similar animation libraries
• Knowledge of Capacitor / Ionic for hybrid mobile apps
• Familiarity with Vercel deployment and edge functions
• Contributions to open-source frontend projects
